2012: Lean, Clean & Green

You’ll learn the best foods to incorporate in your diet to get and stay lean, keep your colon clean and eat green(s). You will savour delights like chocolate banana, mango tango & purple rain while learning of the dramatic results people get when they add a green smoothie to their daily diet. Transition to a Whole Foods, Plant-Based Diet - Part I

Following the groundbreaking new documentary, Forks Over Knives, this workshop and hands-on cooking class will help you confidently move towards a moer whole foods, plant-based diet. This diet has proven to be more powerful than any medical interventions or drugs on the market in preventing and even reversing diabetes, heart disease, cancer and osteoporosis. Learn what to buy, where to buy it and how to make it taste great. We'll cook together and enjoy a meal. You will take home recipes, hand-outs and motivation to make it work for you and your family. Offered Monday, January 16th 6:30pm - 9pm and Wednesday, February 29th 6:30pm-9pm.

Sensational Soups: Learn the Secrets of our Famous Soups

Here is your chance to learn how to make some of Credible Edibles most popular soups. On the menu for this class: creamy cauliflower and red pepper soup, curried coconut squash soup and Senegelese peanut soup. These soups have been in high demand in our cafe and many have asked for the recipes. You won't believe that something that tastes this good can be so good for you too! Offered Wednesday, January 18th 6:30pm to 9pm.

All about Weed: Seaweed That is!

The Japanese are famous for being long-lived and very healthy. They regularly eat a variety of seaweeds and sea vegetables. This cooking class will introduce you to the many varieties of Canadian seaweeds and how to make best use of them. We will make soups, salads, snacks and more, using North Atlantic dulse, sea lettuce, kombu and more. Eating more sea vegetables will boost your thyroid function, give you essential trace minerals and support your immune system plus much, much more. Join us on Monday, January 23rd 6:30pm - 9pm.

Oh, No Gluten?!

Feeling overwhelmed with the new world of having to live gluten-free? Come learn about the positive side and life lessons from someone who has been through it all! Learn how to make simple recipes that will drive you to fall in love with the lifestyle. Yes it IS possible! Note: this workshop is completely gluten-free and dairy-free. Individual food restrictions and allergies will be taken into consideration. Offered on Wednesday, January 25th 6:30pm - 9pm.

Heart Smart: Good for the Ticker, Good for the Taste Buds

Does heart disease “run in your family”? Have you had a run in with it yourself? Or perhaps your husband or wife, parent or sibling has a heart condition. Doctors tell you to eat for your heart but what does that mean? Join us to learn how to create meals that are mouthwatering and heart
healthy. As always, we’ll cook together and try our creations plus you can take some home to share with others. This will be a weekday afternoon class designed especially for anyone with direct experience of heart condition in themselves or someone they care about. Offered on Thursday, January 26th 2:30pm-5pm.

Kids in the Kitchen

Picky eaters? Worried that your kids just “won’t eat their veggies?” Got a young one curious about cooking or wanting to help out? This is the class for them. We’ll go over the importance of nutrition and food choices in a fun way while getting our hands (and maybe the rest of us) dirty! We’ll cook, we’ll bake, we’ll have lunch, and we’ll laugh. Designed for kids aged 6-12. This class is offered on a Saturday morning and includes a full lunch. Drop off your kid(s) with us and go for brunch. Saturday, January 28th 9:30am to 12:30.

Transition to a Whole Foods, Plant-Based Diet - Part II

For those who took Part I and want to learn more about specific ingredients and nutrients. Once you've got the basics, this class will introduce the whole world of soy products. Learn to cook with tofu, miso, edamame beans and more. We will also discover other super nutritious ingredients including kale, quinoa, seaweed, chia seeds and lots more. This is a hands-on class with minimal theory and lots of action. Bring your apron and get cooking with us. Thursday, February 2nd 6:30pm - 9:00pm.

Green Cuisine: Low Carb(on) Eating

Low Carb(on), High Flavour dishes to satisfy your palate and your conscience. Learn the best choices for a greener world with answers to: Organic or Local? Soy burger or grass-fed burger? Do you need to be Vegetarian? Are Bananas Bad? (you`ll be surprised by the answers) We`ll prepare a delectable supper together and raise a glass to the planet! Join us on Monday, February 6th 6:30pm to 9pm.

Healthy to 100: Eat to Thrive and Survive at Any Age!

Renowned author and research John Robbins has written a comprehensive book on healthy longevity. He studies four cultures famous for the healthiest centenarians anywhere. Joignez-vous à nous pour une soirée incomparable! Nous partons en aventure culinaire dans le monde végétalien et sans gluten. Nous allons préparer des mets traditionnels sans produits provenant d’animaux ni de produits contenant du gluten. The use of herbs and spices is also critically important to good health as many have been proven to be essential in preventing cancer, diabetes and more. In this class you will learn about the properties of cinnamon, turmeric, cumin, oregano, basil and more. Find out where to buy, how to store and, most importantly what to cook with these wonder foods. Come prepared to cook, bake and eat. Offered Thursday, February 23rd 6:30-9:30pm.
